Helping Our Community

Why We Do Robotics

When we started robotics in 2017, our goal was to use robotics to help our community. Ever since we were founded, we have used our time to give back in the many ways we can.

The following are examples of our community outreach.

Kanewai Loi Service

This is our first time helping our local community. We helped out at a local Loi. A Loi is a section of land dedicated to agriculture. We helped by stomping soil and removing weeds from some of the Loi patches. We thought to give back to our Hawai'i community and learn more about our culture.

Push Bot Math Workshop

This time we wanted to give back to our school. We identified that some of our elementary students are having problems with math concepts. With the help of push bots, we created a workshop where the kids can learn more about addition and counting.

The Mark Leon Invitational

The Mark Leon Invitational is a annual summer robotics event hosted by Saint Louis School. The Invitational brings together teams from all over the world including Hawai'i, China, Colombia, Canada, and The United States to participate in collaborative workshops, VEX IQ, and VRC Tournaments. This event is named after the late Mark Leon, a NASA Civil Servant and supporter of Hawai'i robotics.

The Crusader Vex IQ Tournament

This tournament was the first time we hosted a competition for the community. The members of our team volunteered at this competition. This tournament was for Hawai'i elementary VEX IQ teams.
